taught by London Family Court Clinic

Course description

This resource draws together, in one place, information from the best and latest research for professionals and volunteers who help women and children. The purpose is to examine the context in which children's lives are impacted. Topics addressed include definitions, statistics, impacts on a mother, myths and realities about woman abuse. Actions that are needed include responding to child disclosures, reporting child maltreatment and ways to support women as parents. Understanding the context lays a foundation for understanding the impact woman abuse has on her children.
