Course Description

Challenging behaviour is one of the most discussed issues in Early Learning and Child Care settings. In this workshop we’ll explore some of the main causes of challenging behaviour and why we interpret some communication as challenging. We will discuss our beliefs about children and how we can help children get their needs met by learning social skills and through our healthy relationships.

Nature of Kids

Monica Carruthers RECE, ECRT, AECEO.C

Monica graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in 1980. She is registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and certified by the AECEO and has an Early Childhood Resource Teacher certificate from Humber College. She has worked in Child Care, Co-Operative Preschool and has been a Resource Teacher and Resource Consultant and is experienced in most aspects of the ECE field. Monica has worked as a Special Needs Consultant and Professional Education Consultant in Hamilton, Ontario and has presented at conferences all across Canada.
